Project #1: MUSIC!
Artist Statement:
For this project I wanted to emphasize the love for music that myself and many other people share. The quote running through the three images, "Music, the poetry of the air", is what I personally think of music. It brings thoughts and emotions to many people that they would otherwise not have. Just like poetry affects the heart of its reader, music does the same to it's listener. I wanted my viewers to understand what music means to me. When I hear music, it is as if it fills the air with life and excitement. I wanted this triptych to be vibrant and exciting like most music can be. With the combination of light and many musical instruments, I believe that this demonstrates my point.

Questions for Reading Discussions
With the constant flow of media in our lives today, has our technology dulled our perception of what art really is? Do we take it for granted?
As our technology increases and our world advances, will the “aura” that Benjamin talked about slowly diminish?
